Rain Won't Stop Jazz Superstar Jamie Cullum At Hampton Court

Jazz star Jamie Cullum will join a lineup of stars including Jason Donovan and Jools Holland for the week of the festival.

From Playboy bunnies to enjoy a cup of tea in the gardens of Hampton Court, jazz superstar Jamie Cullum is planning a wild summer including a stop in Surrey.

Cullum will perform at the Hampton Court Palace Festival, amid the stunning Base Tudor Court Palace in June, alongside big names including Jools Holland and Van Morrison.

The 11-day festival , which begins on June 11 and almost every night runs until June 25 is set to be a typically English affair, with crowds enjoying a picnic in the gardens before performances .

Cullum, who will perform on June 17, said he expects reveling in the event after his time in the U.S. .

“I’m going to come straight from the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, I could not be more of a contrast to the spectacle of Hampton Court," he said.

“That’s what's so great about It.’s always good to return to the UK after a trip and I cannot think of a better event to come back.”

Cullum will perform at the event, which also features a fireworks display and music from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time.

Double Golden Globe, two Brit and Grammy winner said: “The setting is beautiful and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of people we have.

"These outdoor events are always an experience for the artist as well and people often have a little more to drink because they have spent much of the day enjoying them. That means you get a great atmosphere despite the huge environment.

"As an artist you have to put in that bit more work to make the connection with people at first, but if they are successful with it, is something really special. "

Fingers crossed for the weather

Cullum is expected to play a lot of hits from their new album Momentum, as well as some of his new songs of pure jazz.

Of course, the event is outdoors, but Cullum said any rain would not dampen the spirits on his show.
